Let’s Talk Trash.
Nothing bums us out more than waste. Wasted food. Wasted resources. Wasted time. And with more than five decades in the food industry, we’ve seen a lot of it. So we rolled up our sleeves to connect forgotten resources with exceptional stories to inspire change.
Good food is talked about for days.
Good stories are talked about for generations.
Reducing waste is a team sport, not a blame game. Besides, finger-pointing has never been our style. Instead, we’re bringing to life our shared connection to each other and our planet through the good stories of real people who make great food. We pair those products with an ingredient or other resource that would otherwise go to waste. So you get a really delicious treat, an untold story gets shared, and there’s less fill in our landfills. It’s win-win-win.
A Good Story Foods™ is the latest endeavor of the family-run Epting Events Catering & Design company. With more than 50 years of award-winning catering experience serving the Southeast and Puerto Rico, they know a few things about what makes a good recipe.
Storytime wasn’t limited to bedtime in the Epting household. In fact, Lee and his tales have been spotlighted everywhere from Unsolved Mysteries to the Oscar-nominated short Kudzu. Sons Ashley and Daniel didn’t fall far from the family tree. Daniel spent a year on the road changing the life story of a teen with muscular dystrophy as the push-it-to-the-limits driver in the documentary Darius Goes West. Ashley traveled the globe through Semester at Sea then told stories closer to home, producing Not Since You in Athens, available on Amazon Prime. And if you think they sound entertaining enough for a reality show, they are. The antics of all three (and the entire Epting Events Catering & Design family) can be seen on Comcast Xfinity’s Black Tie & BBQ.
